ballin’ on a budget

Morning Belles! After my last post about everything over the top and extravagant with Fancy AF cocktails, I thought I should write about more low key spots around town that offer yummy drinks at a smaller price point. After all, we are in a slow moving recession and um, a pandemic, how could I forget?? We need to save our pennies people!!!

Bubbles & Wines

Located one minute from Dam Square on Nes – one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam, with a cozy atmosphere – Bubbles and Wines will not disappoint. You can order a variety of wines and Champagne by the glass. Or if you’re feeling frisky- like I was, you can get a flight or flights depending on your mood! The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating but not at all pushy. Have a glass for me when you visit – or two!

Lotti’s is located in the Hoxton Hotel on Herengracht canal. Hoxton Hotel offers beautiful hotel rooms that are certainly not your standard Marriot (still love you) or Hilton hotel. Each room is unique; mix and matching materials and fabrics to make each room special. Lotti’s bar space is no different, The bar and lounge area are eclectic, funky and well put together. They sometimes have live music, always a plus. If you are there during the winter months be sure to ask for a hot buttered rum! Lekker!!

Hot buttered rum for the win!!!

Carter is located in Oud Zuid, or “Old South” neighborhood of Amsterdam. This bar and restaurant definitely has a local feel to it. Close to Vondelpark and Museumplein, Carter is convenient, and authentic with no fuss. You will feel more like A’dammer in this part of town, as it’s not a tourist haven. The bartenders are passionate about what they are making and it shows in the drinks. I highly suggest the Pornstar martini – don’t love the name but the drink is delicious, and it comes with a shot of sparkling wine; that’s a win in my book.

I know I’m repeating myself over and over but don’t forget to make a reservation y’all!!
